Dr. Deol has been certified by The American Board of Family Practice, and American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Deol’s passion is Preventive Health with Nutritional Therapies, Weight Loss and Detoxification. He has extensive training in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. He has participated in numerous Wellness, Anti-Aging and Regenerative trainings and seminars over the years.
Dr. Deol studied in a private boarding school in India. The curriculum was based on a Cambridge University, England, and he graduated with honors. Dr. Deol comes from a family of Indian Army Officers, and studied medicine at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India (AFMC), a premier medical institution in India. Upon graduating from AFMC, and completing his internship in Army Hospital, Roorkee, India, he migrated to USA in 1977. He completed his post graduate training in Psychiatry, Internal Medicine and Family Practice at University of Tennessee, and St Francis Hospital, Memphis. He has been in successful private practice in Bakersfield, CA since 1982.
He served as President of Kern Academy of Family Physicians from 1987-2009. He was chief of staff at Bakersfield community Hospital 1991-1992, and was chairman of several hospital departments. He served on Board of Directors at Truxtun Radiology, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, and Good Samaritan Hospital. He is member of over 15 medical associations serving in different capacity.
Doctor Valerie Phillips ND (Dr. Val) is a native Angelino who started studying the medical arts as a teenager in Magnet School. She studied Biochemistry at U.C. Davis, and subsequently pursued research in Neuro-Pathology at U.C. San Francisco.
She also volunteered at the Berkeley Free Clinic and at the Native American Health Center in San Francisco, and became a “lay healthcare worker,” delivering limited primary care services to the underserved populations of the San Francisco Bay area.
Based on this experience, Dr. Val decided to pursue her long term interest in eastern and alternative forms of Medicine by pursuing a Naturopathic Medical degree at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. The education was the perfect blend of western scientific medical thought combined with herbal traditions from across the globe, nutrition, physical medicine and many more disciplines designed to train physicians to see all the aspects of the human body as a holistic unit.
As eclectic as the Bastyr education was, Dr. Val added extra study in the areas of Yoga, Raw Foods Nutrition and Detoxification Medicine. She is currently practicing as an alternative primary care doctor offering many services, including the following:
